What Is VETASSESS?
VETASSESS (Vocational Education and Training Assessment Services) is a government-authorised skills assessing body that assesses the qualifications and work experience of overseas-trained professionals and tradespeople for Australian skilled migration purposes. It covers over 360 occupations across two assessment streams.
Professional Stream
For degree-level occupations including accountants, scientists, marketers, social workers, urban planners, surveyors, and many others. Requires assessment of both qualifications and employment history.
Vocational Stream
For certificate and trade-level occupations. Assesses whether your overseas training and experience meet Australian trade standards. May include skills demonstrations for some trades.

VETASSESS Professional Stream Requirements
- Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher in a closely related field
- Employment: At least 12 months of relevant work experience in the past 5 years (for closely related qualifications); 24 months for partially related qualifications
- Employment level: Work must be at an appropriate professional skill level
- Documentation: Official transcripts, degree certificates, detailed employment reference letters, and passport
